About Gorge Creek Orchards

Nestled near Mareeba in the heart of Far North Queensland, Gorge Creek Orchards is a third-generation family farm established in 1986.
Situated approximately 540 metres above sea level, our orchards enjoy sweeping southern views across the surrounding countryside. Their elevated location provides naturally excellent growing conditions, being protected from flooding and virtually free from frost.
For almost four decades our family has proudly cared for this special property, producing quality Australian-grown tropical fruit while respecting the unique landscape that surrounds us.
Unlike many farms, less than half of our property is devoted to orchards. The remainder has been preserved as native bushland, the natural surroundings of Gorge Creek and impressive granite boulder country.
These natural areas provide an important refuge for native birds, wildlife and a resident population of rock wallabies that have made the granite outcrops their home.
Natural underground springs contribute to our farm dam, providing an important water source throughout much of the year. During extended dry periods, additional irrigation water is sourced to ensure our orchards continue to receive the care they need.
We believe farming and conservation go hand in hand. Looking after our soil, waterways and native environment is an important part of ensuring our farm remains healthy for future generations while preserving a unique part of Far North Queensland.
Caring for the environment is part of everyday life on our farm. Along with preserving native bushland and wildlife habitat, we continue to invest in sustainable practices including solar power, battery storage and electric farm equipment where practical.
The property also retains several original farm buildings dating back to the 1940s, preserving an important part of its rich agricultural heritage.
We carefully pack our fruit here on the farm and supply customers throughout Australia, while continuing to care for the land we are privileged to call home.
